The other day as I sat down for lunch at work, I was watching the news and enjoying my food. I then heard a story of an 8 year old kid who shot his dad twice, and his dad's friend twice. The story is a sad one, but what was even worse is that the woman on the news station went on a rant saying that this is not a story about an 8 year old killing two people but that of America's gun ownership laws. After hearing this statement I became filled with rage and completely lost my appetite. Of course this is a story about a kid killing two people. No gun forced this kid to shoot two people.

This is what is wrong with the liberal view point on gun ownership and gun control laws. They are always blaming the guns and gun companies for people's decisions to use a perfectly safe firearm in the wrong way. Gun companies don't tell someone to commit murder with the gun, it is up to the individual with the gun to be sure they are safe and use the gun in a proper manner.

The liberal view point also seems to think that taking guns away from law abiding citizens will somehow stop all crimes that are committed with a gun. But for some reason liberals can't get it through their brains that disarming Americans is a complete slap in the face to our founding fathers, and that the disarming of law abiding citizens only does one thing, Disarms law abiding citizens. Gun control does absolutely nothing to criminals and those who would actually use a gun to commit a crime. With Barack Obama's gun control policies, he is basically saying law abiding citizens cannot use a gun to defend themselves or their families but instead have to sit back and watch as they get robbed, raped, or murdered.

Liberals also seem to have this idea that taking away the ability to carry a concealed weapon would make the country safer, but in fact, responsible citizens who do carry concealed weapons make themselves and those around them safer. Over the years crime rates have fallen because of states allowing their citizens to carry concealed.

The idea of taking away arms from the citizens of a country can only lead to negative consequences. "The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms."-Adolf Hitler. That's right; Adolf Hitler also had plans to disarm those in his country. Hitler managed to disarm the Jewish community before the Nazi rampage on the Jewish people. The disarming of the citizens in Germany allowed a tyrannical dictator to over run the people and impose his will on the people.

This is why we as Americans must fight against every challenge to the second amendment. It is our constitutional right to bear arms and we must never have to submit to a dictatorship. This is the reason our founding fathers included this important amendment. They already knew that people would come along and try to abolish the rights of the citizens in order to gain control over them and rule them without any means for us to fight back.

Citizens of America do not let yourselves sit idly by as certain politicians in our government try desperately to take away your freedoms. Let others know where you stand, and encourage them to stand up for their freedoms as well, and vote for politicians who will support your second amendment rights.
