What part of 'Shall Not Be Infringed' don't you understand people?

In speech after speech, Barack Hussein Obama has claimed he would "uphold the Second Amendment." Mr. Obama, of course, is a polished speaker who says "words matter." But records matter more. And while Mr. Obama is short on experience on most issues, he's very experienced at casting anti-gun votes.

If Obama is so willing willing to uphold the second amendment than why have the leading anti-hunting and anti-gun groups been endorsing him? Even Hillary Clinton stated that we cannot trust Obama with our guns.

The NRA has long been on record as opposing Barack Obama, as Barack Obama has long been on record as opposing the rights of law-abiding gun owners. For example, Barack Obama:

-Voted to allow the prosecution of citizens who use a firearm for self-defense in the home (Illinois Senate, S.B. 2165. 3/25/04);

- Voted to allow reckless lawsuits designed to put America's firearms industry out of business (S.397, vote 219, 7/29/05);

- Voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting (United States Senate, S. 397, vote 217, 7/29/05);

- Supported a 500% increase in federal taxes on guns and ammunition (Chicago Defender, 12/13/99);

- Voted to ban hundreds of rifles and shotguns commonly used for hunting, including single-shot, over-under and side-by-side shotguns (Illinois Senate SB 1195, 3/ 13/03); and,

- Proposed restrictions that would close 90% or more of all gun stores in the U.S. (Chicago Defender, 12/13/99).

- Barack Obama voted against the confirmation of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito, two of the five Justices who affirmed an individual right to keep and bear arms in the landmark Heller case.

- Barack Obama was a member of the Board of Directors of the Joyce Foundation, the leading source of funds for anti-gun organizations and "research." 1998 Joyce Foundation Annual Report, p. 7.

Americans own 300 million guns, overall ownership rate of 50-60%. 40% in the Northeast, 60% in the South/Midwest, 50% other. Studies have shown that in our country of 305 million people, that guns save lives 2 million times a year, also 40,000 policemen are saved by armed citizens.

The 2nd amendment was enacted to prevent a tyrannical government from getting out of control. The American people should always have a way to prevent their government from getting out of control and prevent their homes from being invaded by criminals. As Obama's voting record shows, he has voted against people being able to use guns for self defense. So I am willing to bet, Obama has no problem with secret service and others protecting him and his family from those wishing to do harm, so why is it ok for him to be protected while regular American citizens are not being allowed to protect themselves and their families?

Mr. Obama, the right to bear arms is a right of all American people, and any attempt to dissolve it or remove it should be declared unconstitutional. You wouldn't get rid of the first amendment would you? The second amendment is just as much a right as the freedom of speech and the freedom of religion.

It is now more important than ever that we Americans stand up for our right to bear arms. Barack Hussein Obama when given a chance will further take away your second amendment rights, and it will be easier now with a soon to be liberal president and a liberal majority in the senate.
